Duplicate content
Does the same content repeat in multiple places - on your site or across the web?
📖 Detailed description
There are two kinds. Internal duplication is repetition within your own site: the same product descriptions across several categories, versions with URL parameters, a page reachable both with and without www. External duplication is when your content is copied onto other sites - or, worse, when you have copied someone else's.
Contrary to the popular myth, this is rarely about a "duplicate penalty". More often the problem is diluted signals: links and SEO power split between the copies instead of strengthening one strong page. The solution is unique content, canonical tags, and tidy addresses. Check the scale of duplication - yours and others' - in the /antyplagiat tool.
Most common problems
Identical product descriptions
The same text across many listings weakens every one of them
URL parameter versions
?sort=price and ?color=black create duplicates of the same page
Content copied from other sites
Google sees it as low-value and skips it
The same page with and without www
Two addresses with identical content split the SEO power
How to fix it?
Write unique descriptions - do not copy from the manufacturer or competitors
Use a canonical tag to point to the main version
Standardize your addresses: one www version and one protocol (https)
Block or canonicalize URL variants with parameters
Regularly scan your site for internal duplication
