Frequently Asked Questions

Enter the domain in the form above and click Check DNS. The tool queries all record types (A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT, SOA, CAA, DNSSEC) directly with dig and shows a full report with TTLs in a few seconds — free and with no registration.

Usually from a few minutes up to 24-48 hours — it depends mainly on the TTL of the old records and provider caches. The DNS propagation article in our knowledge base explains the details and how to speed it up.

An MX record tells the world which server receives email for your domain. If the MX record is missing or points to the wrong server, messages sent to your domain bounce back — no MX means no incoming mail.

An A record points a name directly to an IPv4 address (e.g. 93.184.216.34), while a CNAME is an alias that points one name to another name (e.g. www to example.com). A CNAME cannot be set on the root domain and cannot coexist with other records for the same name.
