What contrast ratio does WCAG require?

WCAG 2.1 level AA requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (18pt+, or 14pt bold). The stricter AAA level requires 7:1 and 4.5:1 respectively.

Is WCAG compliance required by law in Poland?

Yes — public sector websites must meet WCAG 2.1 AA under the digital accessibility act, and since June 2025 the European Accessibility Act extends accessibility duties to many businesses, including e-commerce.

Does color contrast affect SEO?

Indirectly, yes. Poor contrast hurts readability and user engagement signals, and accessibility issues are flagged by Lighthouse, which many SEO audits (including ours) take into account.
