How your result looks in Google (SERP snippet)
How does your page present itself in the list of search results?
📖 Detailed description
Here is the key thing: Google measures the title and description in pixels, not characters. The letter "i" takes up less space than "W", so two titles with the same character count can truncate differently. In practice, the title should fit within about 580px (roughly 50-60 characters) and the description within about 920px (roughly 150-160 characters). Going over ends in an ellipsis (…) that cuts your message off mid-sentence.
Remember too that Google may rewrite your title or description if it decides they are weak or a poor match for the query. Before you publish, see how the result looks on desktop and mobile in the /podglad-serp tool.
Most common problems
Truncated title
The ellipsis cuts off your most important words halfway
Description too long
The call to action does not fit and disappears behind the "…"
Counting characters instead of pixels
The title looks fine in the editor but truncates in Google
A dull, generic snippet
It does not stand out from the competition - low CTR
How to fix it?
Keep the title within ~580px (about 50-60 characters)
Keep the description within ~920px (about 150-160 characters)
Put your most important words and your brand at the start
Add a call to action and a differentiator (e.g. "free delivery")
Check the desktop and mobile preview before publishing
